This 30 minute procedure uses a machine which emits intense pulses of light that penetrate to all levels of the skin, causing collagen and blood vessels beneath the epidermis to constrict. The regimen calls for a series of six full-face light treatments at three-week intervals. Redness following the treatment lasts less than 24 hours for most people. Visible reduction of fine lines and wrinkles occurs gradually, over the span of a few weeks following treatment. IPL treatments are especially good for: fine lines, particularly around the eyes and mouth, shallow acne scars, age spots, broken blood vessels, Rosacea and sun damage. This procedure is thought to reduce the appearance of large pores and dark circles around the eyes, and is especially effective in reducing chronic facial redness. It also can be used to treat sun damage and weathered areas on the neck, arms and chest, as well as the back of the hands. The biggest advantage of IPL treatments is that there is no downtime. The procedure improves the general texture and refinement of the skin according to Dr. Gary Rothfeld.
The first micro-thermal rejuvenation system with virtually no down-time reduces wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars and evens out pigmentation and redness while increasing collagen production. Affirm incorporates Multiplex™ technology with Combined Apex Pulses (CAP) technology - the industry's fastest laser-based energy source-and Xenon Pulsed Light (XPL) technology. The Affirm is a complete skin rejuvenation solution that provides revolutionary results with less downtime than any other laser available.

The Smartlipo laser-assisted lipolysis system is a highly efficacious solution for destroying and permanently eliminating fat cells: A laser fiber is introduced through a small cannula, delivering energy directly to subcutaneous fat cells -causing them to rupture. The emitted energy also coagulates tissue, thus inducing collagen retraction and tissue tightening and results in a faster healing and recovery than conventional liposuction methods. Given the cannula's small size and gentleness of the procedure, Smartlipo is a minimally invasive treatment that only requires local anesthesia - enhancing client safety. Typically only one short treatment session is needed to see remarkable results. Smart Lipo and Vaser can be done effectively on the abdomen, "love handles", backs, thighs, hips, knees, arms, neck and chin according to Dr. Gary Rothfeld.

Endolaser is a minimally invasive method for treating large varicose veins. Pulses of laser energy are released along the course of the vein to seal it completely. Endolaser requires only a small nick in the skin and local anesthesia. The patient walks out of the office and returns to his or her normal daily routine immediately without any pain medication. There is no hospital visit, stitches, or injection of chemical substances. This technique can be combined with sclerotherapy to erase any remaining spider veins.

Mesotherapy Vitamin Therapy
There is only one medical treatment proven to reduce or eliminate cellulite-Mesotherapy. Mesotherapy can be utilized for anti-aging, spot fat reduction and the appearance of cellulite. After being used in France for over 50 years, doctors in the United States are now providing this procedure. This technique where small amounts of medication, vitamins and supplements are injected into the middle layer of skin called the "mesoderm", will offer great results with a series of sessions at NYC Dermatology. Slight bruising and swelling may occur.
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a "next-generation" dermal filler. The smooth consistency gel helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your "smile lines" or "parentheses" (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Juvéderm™ is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid - a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. The doctor eases the gel under your skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel. Results last up to six months.

InjectaLift™ is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment individually designed to help you rediscover natural, youthful beauty, by re-filling areas of soft tissue (fat) that have diminished with age. The InjectaLift™ is like a face lift in a syringe, restoring youthful contours safely and effectively, in a no-downtime procedure that takes 30 minutes or less. This technique takes cosmetic facial filler such as Restylane®, Sculptra® ,Perlane, cosmoplast and will inject specific amounts into the areas where youthful natural fat is depleted, to fill, lift and plump the skin, and rejuvenate the overall appearance. Depending on the desired outcome, Dr.Gary Rothfeld may suggest combining a variety of non-surgical procedures or services with the Injecta-Lift,™ such as IPL, botox, or chemical peels.
This new minimally invasive surgical technique can lift the face and neck in one hour with just local anaesthia. This lifting is done while the patient is awake and the recovery is in one week with almost no bruising or swelling. This new and innovative technique removes 10 years of aging in one hour and will last 10 years. Also two major advantages are that the patient's look is not changed and the hairline is maintained. At NYC Dermatology we do this procedure.
Enzyme Hot Peel

Light Chemical Peel
The light chemical peel is performed using 20% tri-chloroacetic acid. This will remove the upper layer of the Epidermis. It is painless and takes about 5 days to completely peel. Brown spots and fine lines will be vastly improved and the skin will look more even toned and pore size will be diminished.
Deep Chemical Peel
Phenol based peels have the most profound effect on deep wrinkles and severe sun damage. Recommended for light to pale complexions. Astonishing permanent results, recovery time 2 -4 weeks. Please consult with board certified dermatologist Dr. Rothfeld.
Chemical Peeling By applying a chemical solution to the skin, mild scarring and certain types of acne may be treated. The procedure enables new, regenerated skin to appear, improving the appearance of the condition. Chemical Chemical peels have been a mainstay of Dermatology for decades. Chemical peels work by ungluing the top layer of damaged skin and discolored skin so it can peel away and reveal the fresh new skin beneath. Come into Dr. Gary Rothfelds' office to discuss the different type of chemical peels that would be appropriate for you.
Chemical peeling uses a chemical solution to improve the skin's appearance. It can reduce or eliminate fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, correct uneven skin pigmentation, remove precancerous skin growths, and soften acne or treat scars caused by acne. The procedure can also treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and scarring, as well as skin blemishes common with age and heredity. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs.
Possible complications associated with chemical peels may include but are not limited to the following:
A chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons to enhance appearance and self-confidence and may be performed in conjunction with a facelift. However, a chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift and does not prevent or slow the aging process.
Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) are used for chemical peels. The precise formula used may be adjusted for each patient.
Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels that can often provide smoother, brighter-looking skin. AHA peels may be used to accomplish the following:
Generally, no anesthesia is needed for AHA peels since they cause only a slight stinging sensation during application.
Protecting skin from the sun is important following AHA peels.
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) can be used in many concentrations and is used to accomplish the following:
Phenol is the strongest of the chemical solutions and produces a deep peel. A phenol peel is mainly used to accomplish the following:
Recovery may be slow and complete healing may take several months.
After a phenol peel, new skin may lose its ability to produce pigment. The skin will be lighter and will always have to be protected from the sun.
About the procedure:
The procedure involves a chemical solution that is applied to the skin. The solution causes a layer of skin to separate and peel off. The new, regenerated skin underneath is usually smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color than the old skin.
